Friday 12th of May
I left work at 3pm Friday afternoon and drove straight to pre school to pick up Alfie.
He was very excited and i’m told by his teachers that he had been talking all week about the holiday!
We got straight on the road and headed to Heathrow terminal 3.
The drive was generally uneventful although just before the airport parking I heard the sirens of an ambulance approaching from behind. I had to pull into the junction to let it through. Then the lights changed and all hell broke loose with lots of a very angry drivers all beeping at me for being in the middle of the junction.
We survived the incident and made it to the terminal.
We dropped our bags off and headed straight to an airport lounge that i’d booked.
Alfie immediately made a bee-line for the cinema room so we got comfy, ordered some food and much needed beer for me and chilled out for a bit.
With plenty of time we made our way to the gate giving Alfie another opportunity to ride his Gruffalo trunky

Alfie then got his first look at the A380, the biggest plane he’s ever been on
The plane ride was uneventful and Alfie managed to sleep through most of it, unfortunately for me I only got just over an hour or so.
On arrival in Dubai we were greeted by Uncle Adam who drove us straight back home.
We headed to the pool immediately making the most of the heat! It was about 40 degrees, so pretty extreme compared to the UK.
